Actress Rekha Thapa is totally biased during the promotion of the movie based on the film production house. She gives all of her in her home production movies and ignores the films produced by others. There are a lot of examples of failure of the movies when Rekha ignored the promotion of the movie. The last example was ‘Damdar’ (watch ‘Damdar’) for which we wrote about the lack of enthusiasm of Rekha in the promotion of the film. She didn’t even show up in the press meet organized by the film makers.
But, in the case of ‘Tathastu’, she has changed her attitude and has been promoting the movie in her Facebook page, in every interviews and she is even promoting the film in television shows. Now the question arises, what made Rekha to give herself in the promotion of the movie produced by somebody other than herself.
It seems, the director of the movie, Shabir Shrestha, has used a secret tactics to motivate Rekha in the promotion of his film. Some suspect, Rekha is a secret share-holder of the film. Rekha’s interviews and her participation in programs like ‘Nepali Tara 3′ are indications that she is really serious in making the film a success.
‘Tathastu’ is releasing Friday, this week with Aryan Sigdel‘s ‘Albida’ and Samyam Puri‘s ‘Aavash’. The timing of the release and the competition indicate that it won’t be easy for the action movie to win the viewers heart. Only time will tell if Rekha’s extra effort will help in winning the viewer’s heart.
Examples of Facebook posts of Rekha mentioning ‘Tathastu':
Nepali actress Rekha Thapa has returned back to Nepal on the evening of December 10, after the successful screening of her movie ‘Kali‘ in Hong Kong.
While in Hong Kong, Rekha talked about Rekha Thapa Foundation, a non-government organization helping backward community kids. After returning back to Nepal, Rekha is going to start her next movie ‘Kamala’. Commercial success of the movie she produced without the help of her ex-husband, ‘Kali’ and relatively less successful of Chhabi’s movie ‘Loafer’ has encouraged the actress to produce another movie soon.

In an initial report, Chhabi Raj Ojha’s movie ‘Loafer’ is not attracting audience as expected on the first day of the show. According to the initial analysis, if Rekha’s ‘Kali’ and Chhabi’s ‘Loafer’ were released on the same day, as was announced previously, ‘Kali’ would have easily steal the lime lights.
‘Kali’ enjoyed houseful opening and it turned out to be a super hit movie of 2070. Being released during Dashain festival might have contributed to the success of ‘Kali’ but, Rekha’s star value on movies can’t be denied.
Chhabi has started the shooting of another movie without Rekha – ‘Lazza’. The movie is introducing another actress – Shilpa Pokharel. Aryan Sigdel, the actor of ‘Loafer’ and Chhabi’s upcoming ‘Lazza’, was introduced by Rekha Films. It’s a coincidence – among Aryan’s movies only the movie under Rekha Films banners were successful. These days, Rekha is not in good terms with Aryan.
‘Loafer’ success or failure can’t be predicted by the first day alone, but one thing is sure, Rekha is a lucky charm for Chhabi.

- is the first movie under Chhabiraj Films witout any attachment with Rekha Films. (The first movie jointly by Chhabiraj Films and Rekha Films was ‘Hamesha’)
- is the first movie by Chhabi targeted to multiplex theaters.
So far, at least for the last decade, Rekha had always been by Chhabi’s side when his movies were being released. This is the first time Rekha is not with Chhabi. In fact, she has even left the country to show her movie ‘Kali‘ in Hong Kong. Although the show is in Hong Kong is scheduled for December 8, Rekha had departed 5 days earlier. Chhabi had helped Rekha’s ‘Kali’ and had postponed ‘Loafer’ release date to accommodate the release of ‘Kali’ during the Dashain holiday season. But, at the time when Chhabi releases his movie, Rekha has left country just in time to miss the big day.
In case, ‘Loafer’ didn’t do well in theater – Chhabi will have tough time explaining the reasons.
